Colin is Managing Partner of 5 Why Leaders and a master in teaching, consulting and coaching the work of Dr. Deming.

In 1959, Dr. Deming spoke to 300 Japanese CEOs on the power of quality and the use of statistical quality control and his work was the catalyst for the success of Japan – going from making “junk” to becoming the world’s largest industrial power. Colin is Managing Partner of 5 Why Leaders and a master: teaching, consulting and coaching the work of Dr. Deming.

Here’s what individuals and teams will learn during the Zoom study group and individual breakout sessions.

  • Why learning must intersect with process improvement to facilitate, long-term sustainable, change.
  • What tools the best managers use to create and sustain learning cultures.
  • Why curiosity, candor, and physical experiences emotionally improve us and make us more productive.
  • Where science, leadership, and finance financially come together.

If Japan can … Why can’t we? was an American television episode broadcast by NBC News as part of the television show “NBC White Paper” on June 24, 1980, credited with beginning the Quality Revolution and introducing the methods of W. Edwards Deming to American managers.

It took 20 years for America to find Dr. Deming, some, maybe most still have not fully understood the power of Dr. Deming’s work.
